Lifting the Social Sector in Portugal through Engagement
The Manuel Violante Foundation supports the MILES program, changing the landscape of the social sector and economy in Portugal.
MILES is a systemic transformation movement aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the European ESG guidelines.
Mentors, consultants, and facilitators (like Celeste D Brito of EF20302) help senior staff of 500+ social organizations to add needed skills. Through ongoing collaboration, these organisations develop, apply and share distinctive intervention models in their sectors.
One beneficiary is Rita Dias at ARCIL, a non-profit focused on social inclusion for people with disabilities. New team management practices, improved communication skills, and strategic planning support have benefited Rita, ARCIL, and their clients.
